PROFILE: RINA POERWADI HOLISTIC AROMATHERAPY
| | | What is Aromatherapy ? | | Qualified aromatherapists use pure essential oils to seek to positively influence or change aspects of mind, body, spirit, physiology or mood. Essential oils can be administered to the skin by massage, inhaled by using an oil vaporizer or diffuser, added to baths, and more rarely, taken internally.
Although modern aromatherapy only dates from the 1930's the use of essential oils for healing has a long history. Over 3000 years ago the Egyptians had already identified and recorded the healing properties of a large number of aromatic herbs. | | | What is Holistic Aromatherapy ? In addition to training in the use and application of essential oils, Holistic Aromatherapists are also given more training in other complementary therapies, nutrition and diet, anatomy and physiology so they are better able to understand the patient condition in context and recommend appropriate treatment or referral to other health professionals.
Holistic Aromatherapy is a complementary treatment and is not intended to substitute for medical treatment, if a medical condition exists. Typically patients with aches and discomforts including sports injuries, those with skin conditions, insomnia or emotional upsets and depression, are those that have benefited most from Holistic Aromatherapy treatments. Some patients have none of these conditions, but choose to take Aromatherapy treatment for the enhanced feeling of well being it brings them. | | | | Rina Poerwadi's Profile |
